Mission

Lead the development and implementation of computed tomography (CT) applications within an established surface analysis environment. As Application Scientist , you will play a central role in introducing this new capability, conducting internal and external CT projects, and delivering expert support and training to customers. This role combines hands-on experimentation with scientific communication and customer-facing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

CT Integration & Characterization

  • Drive the introduction, optimization, and operational use of computed tomography in the lab.
  • Conduct CT analyses for customer orders and internal development projects .
  • Support material characterization efforts , contributing to cross-technique insights.

Customer Training & Technical Communication

  • Deliver training, application support, and technical guidance to clients.
  • Represent the team in workshops, webinars, trade fairs, and conferences , showcasing CT capabilities and use cases.
  • Support and contribute to other analytical projects as needed.

Internal Collaboration & Market Enablement

  • Work with sales, marketing, and service teams to shape CT offerings and highlight value for clients.
  • Translate technical knowledge into clear messages for client communication and outreach .
  • Help define best practices and contribute to application notes and promotional materials .

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science , or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in computed tomography applications and analysis.
  • Ideally, prior exposure to surface analysis techniques such as XPS, Auger, or TOF-SIMS.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both scientific and industrial audiences.
  • Independent, structured approach to building and managing new application areas.
