Job Description We seek a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead a one‑team culture and deliver technical excellence in water, wastewater, and process treatment plant projects. The role includes coordination, project management, and design leadership under a design manager.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the design team to deliver outputs for multiple projects.
Assist in all aspects of electrical design: site surveys, optioneering, feasibility studies, detailed design, and tender pricing.
Produce procurement specifications, cable calculations, and detailed construction drawings.
Project‑manage third‑party designs and support installation and commissioning teams.
Engage with clients and subcontractors, including regular meetings and resource allocation.
Ensure compliance with Design, Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies, and procedures.
Track and adjust design delivery performance to meet targets, keeping the MIDP up‑to‑date.
Monitor and update Design Change Control and liaise between Mechanical, Civil & Structural designers.
Qualifications & Attributes
Commitment to excellence in Health & Safety, including full compliance with Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM) and other relevant H&S legislation.
In‑depth knowledge of the layout and interconnectivity of typical water and wastewater treatment works processes and equipment, including pumping systems.
Strong communication skills to interact with other engineering disciplines and clients.
Ability to produce clear and concise electrical design deliverables across all design stages.
Experience managing design delivery and project management.
Leadership skills to motivate individuals to consistently deliver.
Willingness to contribute to and develop technical knowledge networks.
A drive for professional development and knowledge of emerging technical solutions.
Flexibility to travel within the UK (including Northern Ireland) and Ireland.
