Chemical Trade Compliance Analyst

We are recruiting, on behalf of one of our international clients based in Basel, a Junior to Mid-level Trade Compliance Analyst  (80–100%).

This is a great opportunity for a chemistry graduate or a compliance-oriented profile wishing to develop expertise in a global regulatory environment.

This is a 2-year temporary assignment.

Chemical Trade Compliance Analyst

Your responsibilities

As a Trade Compliance Analyst, you will support the company’s global trade operations by contributing to customs classification activities, controlled substances management, and chemical trade compliance. This role offers the opportunity to apply your scientific background in a regulatory, international, and multi-functional context.

• Support HS/HTS customs classification for chemical products
• Assist in the management of controlled substances and regulatory documentation
• Work with internal databases and digital tools to analyze data and prepare reports
• Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams
• Contribute to ongoing projects and continuous process improvement initiatives

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific field
• Ability to understand chemical structures and chemical nomenclature
• Comfortable working with data, Excel, and internal systems
• Fluent in English (German is a plus)
• Rigorous, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
• Interest in regulatory affairs, trade compliance, or international operations

This role is particularly well suited for junior candidates or chemistry graduates who wish to transition into regulatory and compliance-oriented positions.
