Primary Accountabilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing concept and detailed design for mechanical systems across sectors including buildings, industrial, institutional, and utility infrastructure.
  • Defining mechanical scope for multidisciplinary projects, developing detailed designs that meet industry standards for safety, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Participating in hands-on project management, including proposals, specifications, bid documents, contract administration, budgeting, scheduling, change-order control, and invoicing.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships through clear communication and consistent, high-quality deliverables.
  • Preparing proposals, technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates, and seeing projects through to completion.
  • Providing insight and mentorship to junior staff to uphold EastPoint's high design standards.
  • Coordinating internal and external technical teams, consultants, and service providers.
  • Completing project designs on schedule and within budget.
  • Ensuring all work aligns with EastPoint's safety culture, building codes, and client policies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Eligibility for Reliability status through CISD within six (6) months.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with Engineers Nova Scotia or able to obtain registration with Engineers Nova Scotia by transferring from another Canadian jurisdiction.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical engineering design software such as Block Load, Carrier HAP, or equivalent sizing software, Autodesk Products (AutoCAD, TrueView, REVIT), and MS Office 365.
  • An ability to confidently apply experiences based on previous works to new sectors of endeavor.
