About the Opportunity:
HR Leaf
is seeking a
Process Engineer
for one of our reputable clients — a leading global manufacturer and supplier of custom, highly engineered plastic and lightweight innovations for the automotive industry.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficiency, quality, and safety of manufacturing operations. The
Process Engineer
will monitor and optimize production processes to meet customer specifications, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with industry standards such as TS16949.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Optimization:
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose processing issues to ensure smooth operations.
- Develop and implement process improvements related to equipment, materials, layout, or workflow.
- Conduct time studies, cycle time analyses, and process simulations to identify bottlenecks.
- Recommend and implement process, machine, and material enhancements to improve overall efficiency.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal and external teams to ensure tools, fixtures, and equipment are in place to meet productivity, quality, and cost targets.
- Participate in the design and development of tooling, gauges, and fixtures.
- Collaborate with commercial and production teams to ensure compliance with established Bill of Materials (BOM) requirements.
- Maintain clear communication between the client's production team and customers to ensure project success.
Quality Assurance:
- Establish and maintain quality control measures to meet customer and industry standards.
- Develop and implement inspection procedures and tests to detect and prevent defects.
- Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of APQP documentation, including Flow Charts, PFMEA, and Standardized Work Instructions.
- Ensure all Process Engineering activities comply with established quality systems and TS16949 standards.
Equipment Maintenance and Reliability:
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
- Develop preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Analyze performance data and conduct FMEA to support reliability improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience. - Experience:
2–4 years of Injection/Blow Molding experience in the automotive manufacturing industry. - Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, forming, machining, welding, and assembly.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for part design, tooling, and fixture development.
- Proven ability to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with quality control methods, SPC, and quality assurance principles.
