Data Scientist role at Cloudflare. We are seeking a highly experienced Data Scientist with a focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP) to join our Application Security team. The role involves developing and deploying scalable Machine Learning models, with opportunities to work on cutting-edge projects in collaboration with Product Managers, Software Engineers and other stakeholders. Role Summary
Our team's mission is to create advanced security solutions that enable customers to filter out unwanted internet traffic. We harness vast internet traffic data to derive deep analytics using advanced ML techniques. We aim to build models that operate at high volume and velocity with exceptional precision, performance, and scalability. Key ML products include BotsML, WAF Attack Score and Page Shield ML. Role Responsibilities
• Work closely with security experts to develop NLP-driven solutions that enhance security capabilities. • Design, develop and deploy highly scalable machine learning models from the ground up. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful ML solutions. • Combine data expertise with security acumen to achieve business goals. Qualifications
Must-Have Skills 5+ years of Data Science experience in a large-scale, globally distributed environment (PBs scale). Proficiency in Python and R for commercial software development; experience with databases like PostgreSQL. Strong data analytical skills; ability to derive insights and propose models leading to proof-of-concept development. Experience collaborating with business, engineering and product teams to align data initiatives with business objectives. Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences. Proven track record applying data insights and ML to address business needs and drive revenue. Demonstrated ability to deliver results with a collaborative work style. Nice-to-Have Skills Experience delivering ML models with sub-millisecond latency in commercial settings. Commercial NLP experience; ML for Web Security. Publications in Top-Tier conferences (e.g., EMNLP, ACL). What Makes Cloudflare Special?
