In February 2024 we closed our third investment round, raising €15 million led by Creandum and supported by Samaipata, 4Founders Capital and VentureFriends.
Role Overview The Director of Sales, UK will be a key contributor to Embat’s pan‑European expansion strategy. Reporting directly to co‑founder Antonio Berga, the role involves driving revenue growth in the UK, building and leading a dedicated sales team, and acting as Embat’s face in the region. Although the position does not carry a VP title initially, there is potential for promotion to VP of EMEA as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities
Drive regional growth by securing high‑value clients and increasing ARR to meet Embat’s ambitious targets.
Schedule and conduct a targeted number of client pitches to independently generate new business opportunities.
Deliver weekly feedback to the Product team, ensuring that UK‑specific requirements—especially in Treasury Management Systems and Payments—are identified, addressed and integrated into the product roadmap.
Develop a successful sales team based on the proven Spanish structure, staffing roles such as Account Executives, Sales Development Representatives, Partnership Executives, Marketing & Content professionals, Pre‑Sales Specialists and Customer Success Managers.
Formulate and implement comprehensive sales strategies that combine inbound lead leverage with outbound initiatives and partnership agreements to expand market penetration.
Define sales target segments, conduct capacity planning, design territories, set quotas, plan headcount and implement strategies to enhance internal sales effectiveness.
Play an integral role in shaping the company’s direction and ensuring the successful execution of strategic initiatives as a key member of the Management Team.
Serve as Embat’s image in the region, representing the company at social and corporate events, fairs and industry speeches.
Qualifications & Experience
Strong track record in high‑growth environments, especially within SaaS or FinTech, with a history of developing and executing go‑to‑market strategies for Mittelstand and Enterprise clients in the UK.
Proven ability to launch and scale businesses in the UK market, with exceptional leadership skills to inspire and motivate a sales team of 5‑10 members.
Demonstrated success in selling complex products to CXO levels, ideally CFOs, with a history of closing contracts valued between €30 – 70 k annually.
Deep expertise in selling to the Mittelstand and mid‑market enterprises, with nuanced understanding of this crucial segment.
Ability to generate and win deals that showcase “what good looks like”.
Strong personal stability, proactive approach to responsibility and an entrepreneurial mindset, with ambition to develop and execute a long‑term strategy for the UK region.
Exceptional public speaking skills, capable of representing Embat at industry events and serving as the company’s ambassador in the country.
Based in the United Kingdom (ideally London) with a commitment to establishing and growing a local team.
Willingness to travel frequently to Madrid, Spain, especially during the initial onboarding period, to gain a deep understanding of Embat’s culture and operations.
