We are looking for Principal, Senior or Experienced Overhead Line Design Engineers to explore future opportunities in line with our growth strategy, with roles based in any of our UK offices. As an Overhead Design Line Engineer within our team you will be involved in the delivery of a wide range of OHL projects – producing and reviewing technical documents in line with industry standards. The role is varied and will see you involved in the development of design criteria, conductor selection, structure type selection, insulation coordination and lightning performance.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing typical OHL design deliverables – line schedules, plan/profile drawings, staking tables and special crossings design
Conducting feasibility studies to assess the technical and economic viability of proposed projects
Co‑ordinating with other engineering disciplines (civil, structural, etc.) to ensure overall project integrity
Managing OHL delivery and workload across multiple projects
About You
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural or Civil Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
CEng, IEng registration or working towards registration would be beneficial
Experience as an Overhead Line Design Engineer or similar role on Transmission and Distribution projects
Experience using PLS-CADD for new OHL designs and modifications to existing designs
Experience with UK design requirements
Strong understanding of complementary T&D disciplines (HV plant design, HV cable design or T&D civil design) is a plus
Team player with a passion for innovation and client service
