About the RoleThe Strategic Finance Lead will be the VP Finance's right hand in driving financial strategy, forecasting, and performance insights. You'll own the financial model, partner with the leadership team and department heads to allocate capital effectively, and ensure we are investor- and board-ready at all times.
This is a highly strategic role with significant exposure to the executive team, board, and investors.
What You'll Be Responsible ForFrameworks for growth: Simplify and distill Float's growth objectives into simple frameworks grounded in quantitative analysis and first principals thinking.
Unit Economics & Growth Efficiency: Track CAC, LTV, payback periods, sales efficiency, and gross margin. Provide insights that guide GTM and product strategy.
Capital Allocation: Partner with leadership to evaluate ROI of growth initiatives (e.g., sales expansion, new markets, product investments).
Scenario Planning: Build and stress-test models for Base, Upside, and Downside cases. Translate macro and company risks into actionable financial implications.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Own the company's operating model, budget, and forecasting process. Deliver monthly variance analyses and insights.
Pricing & Monetization Strategy: Collaborate with Product and GTM on pricing experiments and elasticity analyses.
Board & Investor Readiness: Prepare clean, investor-grade reporting and support the CFO with fundraising materials, board decks, and data rooms.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as a thought partner to Sales, Marketing, and Product leaders, translating financial data into strategic recommendations.

4–7 years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting. Startup experience is a strong plus.
Proven ability to build and maintain complex financial models.
Strong grasp of unit economics, SaaS & Fintech metrics,
Excellent communication skills — able to distill financial insights into simple, actionable takeaways for non-finance stakeholders.
Comfort operating in a fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environment (roll up your sleeves mentality).
Experience with SQL, BI tools such as Metabase and Highspot, and modern data handling practices are considered a strong asset.
