Job Overview
The Agricultural Foreman Mechanic is responsible for leading and performing mechanical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting across Monette Produce's fleet of agricultural and heavy-duty equipment in Outlook, Saskatchewan. This hands-on leadership role oversees a small team of mechanics, ensuring all equipment, from field tractors to transport trucks, is operating safely, efficiently, and in readiness for the season's demands.
The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, Red Seal or equivalent certification, and a proactive approach to diagnosing and solving complex issues. This role offers a challenging and rewarding environment, where you'll work alongside two other skilled mechanics and contribute to the success of large-scale ag production.
Full-time, year-round position offering a competitive hourly wage of $35–$50, incentive pay up to 20%, and comprehensive benefits. A service truck is provided, and shared employee housing is available for rent.
Responsibilities
- Lead and perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on agricultural, transport, and heavy-duty equipment
- Oversee daily workflow and support a small team of mechanics to ensure safe, high-quality work
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems efficiently
- Order and track parts, maintain inventory, and coordinate with suppliers for timely service
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and preventative maintenance schedules
- Complete basic administrative tasks such as cost tracking and maintenance reporting
- Collaborate with management to plan repairs, reduce downtime, and prepare equipment for seasonal setup and teardown
Education & Experience
- Red Seal Journey person Certification (Heavy Duty, Agricultural Equipment Technician, or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of mechanical experience in agriculture, trucking, or heavy equipment
- Experience leading or mentoring a small team is considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver's license required; 1A or 3A license an asset
Skills & Abilities
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills in agricultural, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, engines, and transmissions
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and leadership ability within a small team environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
