Onni Group is seeking a highly motivated and creative Interior Designer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will contribute to a wide range of projects, including multi-family residential, townhomes, single-family homes, office spaces, hotels, and mixed-use developments. What You Will Do:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop design solutions, including space planning, concept and schematic design, and technical drawings.
- Lead or assist in project management: budgeting, scheduling, managing client expectations, and team communication.
- Apply knowledge of Building Codes, accessibility standards, and industry best practices throughout design and documentation.
- Prepare and review project and construction documents:
- Schedules, specifications, and meeting minutes
- Supplemental instructions for construction projects
- Prepare documentation for the selection, specification, procurement, and installation of furnishings, artwork, and equipment, including layout drawings and schedules.
- Assist or lead during the Contract Administration phase: attending site meetings, reviewing deficiencies, coordinating with contractors and vendors.
- Research, source, and present appropriate finishes, furnishings, and materials that meet functional, aesthetic, environmental, and budgetary requirements.
- Mentor junior designers (senior-level role), review their work, and support professional development.
- Coordinate effectively with consultants, suppliers, and team members to ensure project milestones are met.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
What You Will Bring:
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in interior design from a recognized institution.
- Intermediate level: Minimum 5 years of intermediate experience.
- Strong understanding of the design process, including FF&E, furniture systems and specifications, color and material application.
- Knowledge of Building Code regulations (required).
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and present to clients.
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (required).
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) required; SketchUp, Revit, and MS Office an asset.
- Ability to produce and review detailed construction documents and design packages.
- Access to a vehicle for site visits.
Salary Range:
$70,000 - $80,000
