The Role

Join a team that's building technology that matters.
At Versaterm, we design and deliver innovative public safety software that helps first responders keep communities safe. As a Technical Recruiter, you'll play a key role in fueling that mission—hiring the engineers, product experts, and technical professionals who make it all possible.

We are searching for a Technical Recruiter to join our People & Culture team—someone who thrives on connecting exceptional technical talent with meaningful work. In this role, you'll drive the full-cycle recruitment process to attract and secure top engineers, product specialists, and technology professionals who power Versaterm's growth and innovation. You'll partner closely with hiring managers to understand technical needs, craft targeted sourcing strategies, and deliver a seamless, engaging candidate experience. As a trusted recruitment advisor, you'll champion best practices in technical hiring, contribute to our employer brand, and ensure our hiring strategies align with Versaterm's mission and long-term goals.

This position is based in our Ottawa office.

What You Do

  • Partner with hiring managers across Engineering, Product, and IT to understand team needs and role requirements.
  • Develop and execute effective sourcing strategies to attract high-quality, diverse candidates through a variety of channels (e.g., job boards, social media, networking, referrals, and partnerships).
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job posting, screening, interviewing, candidate selection, and offer negotiation.
  • Deliver a high-quality candidate experience through timely communication, transparency, and thoughtful engagement at every stage of the process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in the applicant tracking system (GreenHouse) and generate recruitment metrics and reports to support decision-making.
  • Support hiring manager training and enablement, including interview best practices, structured hiring, and inclusive recruitment techniques.
  • Collaborate with the People & Culture team to support employer branding initiatives and represent Versaterm at events, job fairs, and networking functions.
  • Stay current on market trends, compensation benchmarks, and competitive hiring practices to inform recruitment strategies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of recruitment processes, tools, and systems to drive efficiency and scalability.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies related to hiring and candidate data privacy across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support team objectives, departmental needs, and overall organizational priorities.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including at least 2 years hiring for technical roles (software engineering, DevOps, QA, product, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing tools and methods (LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, GitHub, Stack Overflow, etc.).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple requisitions in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Experience using Greenhouse or similar applicant tracking systems.
