Sentinel Dock & Door Solutions is a Canadian company that provides commercial dock and door services. Established in 2025 by Trivest Partners, a private equity firm, Sentinel was formed through the acquisition of several regional service providers: Lenworth Building Services, Pro Door & Dock Systems, Mar-Lin Dock & Door, Door Doctor and Secord Doors. These companies specialize in the installation, repair, and maintenance of overhead doors, dock levelers, and related equipment for commercial and industrial facilities.

Pro-Door & Dock Systems located in Mississauga is seeking a Controller for their growing team. As a Controller, you will lead our financial operations and provide strategic support for executive-level decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Support the preparation of various reports including financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and internal management.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive efficient invoicing and cash collection processes while managing supplier payments and associated documentation.
  • Lead end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accurate remittances and timely compliance filings.
  • Manage credit approvals, oversee cash flow forecasting, and conduct margin analysis across business units.
  • Collaborate on inventory management, product costing, and pricing strategies to support company-wide financial decisions.
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing optimization of ERP and third-party payroll systems.
  • Oversee IT operations and vendor relationships, ensuring system reliability, data integrity, and user training.
  • Mentor and supervise the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and professional development.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA designation strongly preferred
  • 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, job costing, project-based accounting, and payroll systems
  • Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Sage
  • Experience in private equity-backed organizations is a significant advantage
  • Proven leadership capabilities with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical acumen and meticulous attention to detail

Compensation:

  • $115,000 - $120,000 annually, based on experience
