*Who We Are Looking For:*
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to support clients with communication and swallowing disorders in both clinical and/or home health environments.
Key Responsibilities:
_*Home Health Responsibilities:*_
* Support in assisting with in-home informal assessments for communication and language needs.
* Implement therapy activities tailored to the patient’s home environment under the supervision of the SLP.
* Provide education and training to caregivers and family members on how to assist with communication and language techniques.
* Document therapy provided and report any significant changes in the patient’s condition to the supervising SLP.
* Foster supportive relationships with patients and their families to encourage participation in therapy.
_*In-Clinic Responsibilities:*_
* Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
* Conduct activities to improve patients’ speech, language, and communication skills as directed.
* Monitor patient progress and provide feedback to the supervising SLP.
* Prepare materials and equipment for therapy sessions.
* Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises and strategies for practice at home.
* Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment activities.
*Qualifications:*
* Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field from an accredited program.
* Current certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) as required by the state of Arizona.
* Experience in a clinical and/or home health setting preferred.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
*Physical Requirements:*
* Ability to lift and assist patients as needed.
* Capacity to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
