*Position Overview*
Dietrich Trucking is seeking an *experienced Swing Shift Diesel Mechanic* to maintain and repair our fleet of trucks and trailers operating throughout the Pacific Northwest. This role requires a skilled, self-motivated mechanic capable of diagnosing and repairing equipment independently during evening hours. Work will take place both in the shop and in the field, often in varying weather conditions.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
* Repair or replace engines, transmissions, differentials, air systems, and braking components
* Conduct welding and light fabrication as needed
* Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and parts used
* Perform preventive maintenance inspections and identify potential issues
* Ensure all work meets company safety standards and DOT compliance
* Support fleet operations by maintaining communication with the fleet manager
*Qualifications*
* Minimum *2 years of diesel mechanic experience* (truck or heavy equipment preferred)
* Must pass pre-employment drug screen
* Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting ability
* Familiarity with air brakes, hydraulics, and DEF/emission systems
* Basic welding and fabrication experience
* Must have own hand tools (shop provides specialty tools)
* Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL preferred)
* Ability to lift 75 lbs and work in outdoor or confined environments
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
