Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Systems Engineer. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks including systems engineering, troubleshooting, system administration, systems design, and providing technical support. The candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of our hybrid systems. This position requires a highly analytical and solution-oriented individual who can adapt to evolving technical challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Build orchestration, queues, persistence, and policy hooks.
  • Platform design and integration
  • Design APIs (gRPC/HTTP) for agents/models, plugins, IDE; authn/z and rate limits.
  • Observability (metrics/logs/traces) with SLIs/SLOs.
  • Help Prioritize developer UX: fast feedback loops, traceable decisions, zero‑trust plugin flows.
  • Help Coordinate cross‑functional delivery (FE/BE/SRE/Sec/Design).
  • Help Define pricing/usage guardrails with finance/ops.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Systems Engineering and Systems Design
  • Experience with Troubleshooting and providing Technical Support
  • Strong skills in System Administration
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in AI or bio-inspired systems is a plus
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

Preferences

  • Documented experience with Go/Rust/Python/Node, distributed systems, message queues (Kafka/NATS/SQS). idempotency, retries, backpressure.
  • Postgres/Redis, transactions, caching; secure service‑to‑service auth.
  • Production experience with tracing (OpenTelemetry) and fault tolerance. AuthN/Z (OIDC/OAuth2), rate‑limits, audit logging, tenancy boundaries.
  • Workflow engines (Temporal preferred) or robust custom state machines/DAGs.
  • gRPC for internal APIs; OpenAPI/JSON Schema for external; schema/versioning discipline.
  • Experienced PM in dev tools/infra/ML platforms; shipped 0→1 products.
  • Strong API/SDK intuition; comfortable with data, telemetry, and evaluation.
  • Language & platforms: Go (primary), Postgres (+ pgvector), Redis, NATS/Kafka, gRPC/REST, Temporal, Docker/K8s on AWS EKS, Terraform, GitHub Actions.
  • Excellent spec writing and stakeholder communication.
