Sweep is hiring a Director of Data to work on our sustainability data management platform.

Climate change is the defining challenge of our era, and technology is at the center of the fight. Sweep is arming companies with tools to manage their climate impact, thereby contributing to a better future for everyone.

What will I be doing?

As part of the engineering team, you will work on supporting the development of the SaaS product, enabling data analytics and management across the company by overseeing the data strategy of the organization.

To be more specific, this includes:

  1. Support development of data features of the core product
    • Build, maintain and manage data pipeline to feed ML projects to support feature development
    • Set up data governance for production and test data
    • Oversee data collection, storage, analysis, and security to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance
  2. Internal data insights
    • Build internal application and pipeline to support analytics need for all stakeholders
    • Identify data needs and provide strategic insights
    • Drive data-driven decision-making across the organization
  3. Be a team citizen
    • Build, lead and manage a team of data professionals, including analysts, scientists, and engineers
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support their needs
    • Foster a data culture across the organization
  4. Pursue quality
    • Implement data quality improvement initiatives
    • Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
    • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data technologies
What do I need to bring?

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) in data management and analytics roles
  • Strong technical background in data architecture, and advanced modeling techniques
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and technologies (e.g., Python, R, Maths)
  • Experience in people management

This is a full-time position based in one of our French hubs (Paris or Montpellier). Although there are job openings in both cities, only one position is available.
