Job overview and responsibilities

Syensqo is seeking a LAN/WiFi Lead Engineer to spearhead our efforts in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable local area network (LAN) and wireless fidelity (WiFi) infrastructures. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-performance connectivity that supports our organization's operational needs and our clients' demanding requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical understanding of network architecture, combined with leadership skills to guide a team towards achieving excellence in network deployment and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Design and Architecture: Develop and refine the architecture of LAN and WiFi networks to ensure they meet current and future requirements. This includes creating detailed network designs, selecting appropriate hardware and software, and defining network policies and procedures.
  • Implementation and Deployment: Lead the deployment of LAN and WiFi networks, overseeing the installation, configuration, and optimization of network components. Ensure seamless integration with existing network infrastructure.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Continuously monitor network performance, identifying and resolving any issues to ensure optimal operation. Implement upgrades and enhancements to improve network efficiency, capacity, and security.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure that LAN and WiFi networks comply with relevant security standards and organizational policies. Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect network resources and data.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with technology vendors and service providers to ensure the successful integration of third-party solutions. Engage with internal stakeholders to understand their networking needs and provide expert advice and support.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation for network designs, configurations, policies, and procedures. Prepare and present reports on network performance, security, and improvement initiatives.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CCNP, CWNA) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role focused on LAN and WiFi technologies.
  • Expert knowledge of networking principles and technologies, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, wireless communication standards (e.g., IEEE 802.11), and network security practices.
  • Experience with network management and monitoring tools, wireless controllers, access points, and other networking hardware.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with technical teams, stakeholders, and clients.
