Job Title: Software Development Manager

As the next Usability & Content Services (UCS) manager, you will be leading a global team in charge of providing available and usable test systems to the users/customers and facilitate their test experience.

Based in Nice, you will steer the work of a 24/5 follow-the-sun organization (Nice, London, Dubai, Dallas, Bogota, Bangalore, Sydney) taking care of:

  • Functional Monitoring (functional, pro-active monitoring on the Customer Facing Test Systems as well as Skilling environment and the main Internal Test Systems)
  • Incident Management (detection, diagnosis, recovery)
  • Problem Management (root cause analysis and post-recovery)
  • Response Time Monitoring
  • Capture/Restore coordination (for all Test Systems)
  • Record Handling

Your Main Responsibilities:

You will ensure the processes and way of working are continuously improved through feedback loops, opportunity identification, analysis, and solution development. Many of these solutions will involve developing and implementing automation, with the final goal of improving the efficiency of operational efforts.

Equally important, you will be an active participant in building & promoting the vision & strategy of the department. You will lead major projects & the evolution of the global UCS team, in coordination with the leadership team worldwide.

Common accountabilities:

As a Software Development Manager of the UCS team, you will be the accountable person for Test Systems usability and stability on the OBE and Cloud stacks, ensuring the levels of service are met and guaranteeing a stable set of environments for our customers. This also includes ensuring business continuity and actively working in securing the right skills mix in the global team.

To this end, the successful candidate will:

  • have strong operational and technical skills (for investigation & automation) with an excellent understanding of architecture
  • have an active critical mind (to challenge the status quo and propose changes), solid analytical skills (to support the team with incident and problem management), and project management skills
  • have significant experience in people management (active listening, compassion, biased for action), change management, and conflict management
  • show strong leadership that is capable to bridge the technical and human topics across sites seamlessly and harmoniously

Specific accountabilities:

Analysis / Improvements:

  • Design and implement strategies/solutions to increase the operational efficiency of the team.
  • Liaise with different stakeholders to detect their needs and pain points.
  • Spearhead change in terms of behaviour and work approach (continuous learning and improvement), striving to adapt to the dynamic business environment of Amadeus.

Communication / Promotion:

  • Influence and sensitize the Amadeus community around Test Systems topics.
  • Set up and provide operational reporting to different stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Coach project leaders to do timely deliveries following high-quality standards (ex: SDLC, testing, …)

Project Management:

  • Sizing, budget, planning, risk assessment
  • Coach teams in proper Agile methodologies

People & Team Development:

  • Drive the building of the objectives for the global team
  • Coach and develop employees, conflict management, uphold the company values
  • Be creative and proactive in building your team’s identity and mindset
  • Be an integral part of the leadership team, by sharing experiences and knowledge and providing support
  • Work with the other leaders as a cohesive & united team
  • Develop personal growth opportunities

Business Excellence:

  • Accountable for operational business continuity in the follow-the-sun model, ensuring proper rostering of the team and anticipating any potential issues to minimize risks.
  • Functional monitoring and incident management processes.
  • Develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Maintain quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.
