Within our Global AI Hub, we combine our long-standing manufacturing and domain expertise with cutting-edge innovation in Generative AI, machine learning, and deep learning to empower smarter decision-making, agility, and decarbonization.

For the Strategy & Innovation team, responsible among other topics for investigating new technologies to integrate intelligence into Schneider products, we are looking for a Senior Data Scientist – Embedded AI to join the Embedded AI team in France (Grenoble).

Your missions:

Creation, Specification, Design, and Implementation of Artificial Intelligence algorithms for products, systems, and solutions constrained in terms of Computing Power, Memory, and Energy ("Embedded").

Define the Embedded AI Product’s Needs in Interaction with the Business Line:

  • Gain expertise in the technical subject of the product
  • Share Embedded AI knowledge
  • Facilitate brainstorming/workshops with the LoB experts
  • Specify the requirements in terms of AI and associated product constraints

Develop Artificial Intelligence Algorithms:

  • In-depth data analysis
  • Acquisition of additional data
  • State-of-the-art analysis
  • Model creation (potentially beyond the state-of-the-art)
  • Algorithm performance evaluation
  • Optimization of AI models for embedded targets
  • Positioning technical proposals within a microcontroller hardware architecture

Prototype and Validate on Hardware Targets:

  • Development of firmware components that integrate these AI algorithms
  • Prototyping, testing, and validation in both offline and embedded environments: working with data, AI models, and physical measurements on target
  • Collaboration with electronics and embedded systems experts

Develop Expertise in Embedded AI for Schneider:

  • Lead innovation projects as well as associated technological and scientific monitoring, contribute to the valorization of intellectual property (patents, publications)
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices

Your profile:

This activity is at the intersection of two major industry domains, Electronics/Embedded Systems and Artificial Intelligence, and is thus open to several types of profiles:

  • Engineer or Master’s in Computer Science/Data Science/Machine Learning with strong knowledge in Electronics/Embedded Systems
  • Engineer or Master’s in Electronics/Embedded Systems with a specialization in Data Science
  • 5 years of experience minimum in similar topics

Your skills:

  • Experience using low-level languages like C or C++ for embedded systems
  • Strong knowledge in Deep Learning, Machine Learning, and Data Science
  • Good knowledge in signal processing (ideally time series)
  • Understanding of compression and optimization techniques for embedded AI models and associated tools (TensorFlow Lite Micro, ExecuTorch, STM32 Cube.AI…)
  • AI development and MLOps tools and frameworks: Python, MLFlow, DVC
  • Good knowledge of microcontroller architectures and embedded computing capabilities
  • General knowledge of electrotechnical products or systems
  • Experience in knowledge management (state-of-the-art, patents…)
  • Excellent communication skills (English), pragmatism, and rigor.

We know skills and competencies show up in many ways and can be based on your life experience. If you do not necessarily meet all the requirements that are listed, we still encourage you to apply.

Our offer includes attractive remuneration and goes far beyond that.
