About The Role
The Senior Developer Workspace Engineer at Genesis10 is a pivotal role designed for a highly skilled professional with a blend of DevOps expertise, end-user technology proficiency, and technical evangelism capabilities. This position focuses on designing, building, and advocating for innovative developer workspaces and tooling to facilitate seamless onboarding and efficient ongoing support for developers. The role involves collaborating with various teams to create physical, virtual, or browser-based workstation solutions, developing custom tools to streamline workflows, and integrating emerging technologies such as Generative AI into developer environments. As a senior-level engineer, you will serve as a technical evangelist, promoting best practices and innovative solutions within the developer community, ensuring all solutions adhere to audit, risk, and governance standards. The role offers flexibility regarding work location, with a preference for on-site presence but open to remote candidates who are willing to comply with company policies once transitioned to on-site work.

Qualifications
Candidates should possess proven experience in DevOps and end-user technology roles, demonstrating strong development skills in Python and Java. Excellent communication and advocacy skills are essential for effectively evangelizing best practices and influencing developer communities. A solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline configuration and management, cloud-native tools, containerization, and networking concepts is required. Familiarity with desktop provisioning, software distribution technologies such as SCCM and VDI, and AI/ML integration is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with Generative AI concepts and applications will be considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement developer workspaces using physical hardware, virtualized desktops, or browser-based setups to optimize developer productivity and onboarding processes.
• Develop and enhance tools primarily in Python and Java to streamline developer workflows and improve tooling efficiency.
• Advocate for and implement improvements to CI/CD pipelines by integrating new tooling and leveraging available libraries to enhance automation and deployment processes.
• Create and maintain patterns for desktop provisioning and software package management utilizing SCCM, VDI, or similar technologies to ensure consistent and secure environments.
• Lead initiatives to incorporate Generative AI capabilities into developer workflows, aiming to add value and innovation to the development process.
• Partner with end-user collaboration suites to craft seamless, integrated developer experiences that facilitate collaboration and productivity.
• Ensure all solutions comply with audit, risk, and governance requirements, maintaining high standards of security and compliance.
• Promote best practices and innovative solutions within the developer community through advocacy and knowledge sharing.
