We're seeking an
Implementation Manager
to lead a team of 10 implementation specialists responsible for onboarding new construction clients and executing system migrations. Reporting directly to the partners, you'll combine deep technical expertise in accounting systems with exceptional project management skills, ensuring seamless transitions for clients adopting our outsourced accounting services.
As our Implementation Manager, you'll oversee multiple concurrent implementations while ensuring your team delivers projects on time and within scope. You'll be the strategic leader who translates client business requirements into effective system designs, manages complex data migrations, and establishes the foundation for long-term client success. This is an opportunity to shape our implementation methodology and build scalable onboarding processes within a dynamic, technology-forward firm.
The ideal candidate will excel at managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. If you have extensive experience migrating accounting systems and thrive on solving technical challenges while leading teams through critical client transitions, this role offers the chance to build and refine our implementation playbook at scale.
This is a full-time W2 position - we are not seeking self-employed consultants or bookkeepers. The role is remote, with hybrid work arrangements available for candidates in the Phoenix metro area. We are seeking candidates based in the West Coast or Rocky Mountain regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of +10 implementation specialists executing client onboarding projects for construction companies.
- Conduct comprehensive business requirements gathering sessions with new clients to understand their accounting workflows and operational needs.
- Design and architect accounting system solutions that align with construction industry best practices and client-specific requirements.
- Oversee QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online migrations, ensuring data integrity and minimal business disruption.
- Manage multiple concurrent implementation projects from kickoff through handoff to maintenance teams.
- Develop and maintain project timelines, resource allocation plans, and implementation documentation.
- Establish clear transition protocols for passing completed implementations to ongoing client service teams.
- Continuously improve implementation methodologies, templates, and training materials.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues during implementations.
- Work with leadership in developing and maintaining relationships with key technology partners and vendors.
- Champion change management initiatives and advocate for technology adoption that enhances client outcomes and team efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, information systems, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in accounting system implementations, with 4+ years of experience managing implementation teams.
- Extensive hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Desktop (QBD), including complex data migrations from QBD to QBO.
- Proven track record managing teams of 6+ people in a project-based environment.
- Strong business requirements gathering and system design capabilities.
- Experience with structured handoffs between implementation and maintenance/support teams.
- Exceptional project management skills with experience using project management tools and methodologies.
- Outstanding client communication and presentation skills.
- Deep understanding of construction accounting requirements, including job costing, WIP, and AIA billing.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Sage 300 CRE and Foundation software implementations.
- PMP or similar project management certification.
- CPA or CCIFP designation.
- Experience with additional construction platforms (Sage Intacct, Intuit Enterprise Suite).
- Familiarity with integration tools and third-party construction software (Procore, Knowify, , Ramp, Adaptive).
- Previous experience in outsourced accounting or professional services environment.
