The Secure Network Engineer will provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise in secure networking for critical ground infrastructure systems supporting national security missions. This role ensures resilient, compliant, and cyber-secure networking across development, integration, testing, and operational phases. The engineer will directly support program management, systems engineering, cybersecurity, integration and test, and operations. Key responsibilities include: Attend and lead technical and program reviews, working groups, and design milestones. Ensure compliance with applicable engineering and quality standards. Provide technical deliverables and documentation related to secure networking. Support secure networking during hardware/software integration and ground system transitions. Establish and maintain network connectivity, security controls, and cryptographic device management. Ensure proper handling of COMSEC devices, spares, and keying materials. Provide secure networking inputs to project schedules and integrated master plans. Track milestones, risks, and deliverables related to networking security activities. Lead or support requirements definition, risk management, and technical performance tracking. Develop and maintain networking artifacts within model-based systems engineering environments. Support verification, validation, and system safety planning for secure networking elements. Deliver sustainment and maintenance planning for secure networking infrastructure. Develop, review, and maintain interface control documents for networking systems. Support integration and test activities with vendors and mission partners. Troubleshoot connectivity issues and ensure interoperability across systems and mission partners. Participate in test readiness reviews and resolve findings. Support cybersecurity testing and evaluation of ground systems. Develop and maintain cybersecurity body of evidence. Conduct vulnerability assessments, compliance scans, and mitigation activities. Protect systems against TEMPEST-related threats and information leakage. Design, plan, and execute secure network infrastructure installations at operational facilities. Maintain ground system infrastructure with updated configurations. Support nominal and backup operations of ground elements as the secure networking lead. Travel requirements include up to 25% travel to program offices, operational facilities, and contractor/vendor sites. Minimum qualifications include: Active DoD Secret Clearance (TS/SCI Preferred). Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 7+ years of experience in secure networking, systems engineering, or cybersecurity for DoD/IC programs. Expertise in DISA STIGs, RMF, COMSEC handling, TEMPEST protections, and IA Workforce requirements. Experience with MBSE tools (Cameo, Rhapsody, MagicDraw, or equivalent). Familiarity with IEEE 15288.x, SAE AS9100, AS6500, and MIL-STD-882E standards. Desired qualifications include: Experience with large-scale ground systems integration (satellite, space, or defense systems). Hands-on with cryptographic devices (e.g., KIV-7M, TACLANE, KG-series). Strong background in DoD program scheduling and risk management. CISSP, CCNP Security, or DoD 8570/8140 certification. Prior work with SSC, SMC, or other space enterprise programs.
