User Experience Designer II

At Expedia Lodging Services, we are building a back-office platform used by a diverse range of users from large hotel chains to small mom-and-pop motels. Tens of thousands of customers are using these products daily which lets us craft experiences, collect feedback, and learn quickly about what works and what doesn’t.

You will partner with UX researchers, content strategists, data scientists, product managers, engineers, and other product people to create the highest value for our customers. The design system team is ready to support you, so you can focus on exploration and iteration. Your role is to synthesize all the feedback from the partners into interactions that make customers confident in working with our products.

You will be part of Analytics, the brain, and revenue design team working on making data understandable and useful.

What you'll do
  • Discover user needs through qualitative and quantitative research and help your team to gain empathy for users.
  • Grow with the dedicated support of senior design mentors; foster the design community by sharing your knowledge back.
  • Lead design workshops, design sprints, and swarms and socialize the results; build relationships and communicate intentions with clarity.
  • Bring forward-thinking concepts to UI-spec detail; own your product end-to-end and take care of your team's UX demands.
  • Contribute to the design system.
Who you are
  • Experienced in digital product design projects using mixed creative methods and documented insights from failures and successes.
  • Created state-rich prototypes (not just the "happy path").

Any of the following would benefit the team:

  • Demonstrated contribution to multiple responsive web-app and B2B projects.
  • Demonstrated use of modern front-end tech to build prototypes.
  • Demonstrated modern visual design, specifically in data visualization.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing for diverse groups of people (internationalization, localization, accessibility, etc.).
