About the Platform Product Group
The Platform Product Group is committed to building a reliable, scalable, and compliant infrastructure for speedy and efficient operations. Our teams maintain the critical platforms that support Coinbase's existence, including areas such as Identity, Payments, Risk, Machine Learning, Customer Experience, and Infrastructure.
Role
Join the Payments team at Coinbase, where we create innovative payment solutions that empower both individual consumers and large-scale institutions within the cryptocurrency ecosystem. We are building state-of-the-art payment infrastructure, workflows, and APIs that enable the seamless conversion of traditional currency to crypto, enhancing financial accessibility.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop a payments platform to handle billions of dollars in transactions globally.
Provide technical guidance to teams, collaborating with management to shape strategic roadmaps.
Oversee project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with your technical expertise.
Mentor and develop junior engineers on design methodologies and coding standards.
Produce high-quality, well-tested code tailored to our customers' needs.
Engage hands-on in coding activities.
Craft and implement a multi-year strategy for Payments engineering with technical leadership.
Work closely with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate our vision into an actionable quarterly roadmap.
Contribute positive energy in meetings, fostering inclusivity and collaboration.
Collaborate with upstream teams to enforce SLAs for data availability and quality.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in software engineering.
Proven track record of elevating junior engineers by implementing processes and standards.
Strong understanding of high-quality code and software engineering practices, with an ability to nurture these in your team.
Passionate about creating an open financial system that unites the world.
Experience in building large distributed systems.
Capable of developing simple, scalable, and fault-tolerant APIs.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Golang, gRPC, Docker, Kafka, AWS cloud, SnowFlake, and Databricks.
Experience in the financial domain.
Knowledge of crypto technologies and experiences with onchain activities, including familiarity with Ethereum addresses, ENS, DApps, and blockchain services.

Compensation
Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual salary for this position ranges from $218,025 to $256,500 USD. Full-time offers from Coinbase also include a target bonus, target equity, and comprehensive benefits.
