Job Description

The Night Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of the property's evening operations. This position requires a proactive, service-driven leader who ensures smooth and efficient nightly workflows while maintaining the highest standards of guest satisfaction, team performance, and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include overseeing night operations across the Front Office and other hotel departments, managing emergency protocols, conducting financial audits, monitoring payroll, and completing daily and monthly reports to support both accounting and operations. Through exceptional service and strong leadership, this role fosters a positive, engaged, and high-performing team culture.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have a passion for customer service and strive to exceed customer expectations at all times.
  • Must be neat and professional in appearance, suitable for a 4 - 5 star hotel environment.
  • This is an overnight position– hours of work are approx. 11pm to 7am.
  • Night Audit: Experience preferred in working with numbers including reconciliations, balancing figures and shift closing.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to complete tasks without supervision.
  • Ability to practice and maintain consistent key standards at all times.
  • Must be comfortable working in a small team, 2-3 persons on shift in building, and working as a team to solve any issues that arise overnight.
  • Valid and clean driving license required for this role, for ability to valet guest vehicles.
  • Ability to drive manual transmission required.
  • Able to think critically and use sound judgment in a variety of situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and attitude.
  • Must be physically fit and capable of moving guest luggage, banquet tables, linen carts etc.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.
  • Hotel experience in a similar or related role is considered an asset.
