Search Developer Platform (SDP) is part of the larger Search organization. Our mission is to accelerate the efficient development of compelling and innovative Search experiences. The focus of your work as a Software Engineer in SDP will be to make Google Search faster, better, and more relatable, and to do so in a scalable fashion that will allow many parts of the Google Search experience to benefit from your work. You will work on projects critical to the needs of Google's users, with a focus on quality, performance, and how to integrate the latest advances in AI/LLMs into Google's Search infrastructure, together with our partners in other parts of the Search organization.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, reusable information retrieval solutions, finding a good balance between quality and cost.
• Carefully analyze your solutions, with a scientific, data-driven mindset, and always keeping in mind what is best for Google's users.
• Use modern machine learning solutions (e.g., embedding retrieval) to evolve Google's search infrastructure.
• Work in a high-paced environment with cross-team collaborations, open-ended challenges, and a rapidly evolving technology.
