About the job

The Category Director is responsible for designing and executing the strategy that will enable Danone to drive the category growth for the Dairy Category. The successful candidate will serve as the Global Dairy expert and will work hand in hand with the CBUs to support them on bringing to life and deliver the Global Dairy Commercial Strategy. He or she will lead the commercialization of our category strategies and work with CBUs & global sales to enable operationalization with customers and in-store.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Partner with global category leadership to commercialise the Danone strategies into category growth plans.
  2. Review and refresh (as needed) the global dairy category vision, infused with channel and shopper insights and providing a cross-channel strategy for category growth that is actionable for CBU sales teams.
  3. Cobuild, design and develop channel toolkits. Support CBU’s for the deployment locally.
  4. Lead the team to define the role of the category for Danone, build shopper profiles, missions and journey.
  5. Lead the development of Danone’s approach to the dairy category, to enable category captaincy and category growth for our key customers.
  6. Create a customer-facing commercial category story by key channel that clearly demonstrates the role of the category and Danone’s unique ability to drive this growth for the customer.
  7. Leverage the CBU inputs and the global category & commercial strategy (including recommended innovations & renovations) to develop global customer-facing category story by key channel that establishes a clear case for category growth and Danone’s value proposition.
  8. Capture input by top CBU of key arguments for category growth by channel, and Danone’s unique value proposition to enable this growth for the customer. Work with global category team to problem solve gaps in the value proposition and to integrate into the global category strategy.
  9. Work with top CBUs to help them define what it would take to achieve category captaincy, and advise based on best practices a staged plan to achieve this objective.

About you

  • Education: University degree, Business or Marketing, Masters Preferred.
  • Experience (in years): Min 12 years experience in Sales, Marketing, Category Management, in market and in global and regional roles. International experience required. English mandatory, secondary language preferred. (French, Spanish or other.)
  • Skills & competencies:
