The CEA is looking for a Software Engineer for AI-enabled Systems for the CEA/DRT (Technological Research Department). This 36-month fixed-term executive position is based on the Nano-Innov site in Paris-Saclay, Essonne (91).

This is a position to be filled as soon as possible.

YOUR MISSION:

As part of your missions, you will be required to:

  • Work closely with researchers to understand project requirements and translate them into software solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain software systems to support research.
  • Implement algorithms, data structures, and other computational techniques to solve complex problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software components into larger research systems.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to researchers, including troubleshooting and debugging software issues.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in software development and apply best practices to ensure high-quality, efficient code.

REQUIRED SKILLS :

  • Master’s, Engineering or PhD degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software development
  • Familiarity with web frameworks such as Django, or Spring Boot
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience working in a research environment or on research projects is a plus
  • Familiarity with AI and Machine Learning is a plus
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Passion for technology and a desire to contribute to groundbreaking research in AI-enabled systems

Within CEA, the CEA LIST/LSEA (Embedded and Autonomous Systems Design Laboratory) carries out research on methods, design principles and tools for the engineering of efficient and trustworthy embedded and autonomous systems. The laboratory has a recognized expertise in the field of model-based design of safety-critical systems, and has initiated an upstream work for the mastery of advanced technologies of safe self-adaptation and integration of trustworthy autonomy in critical systems. The lab plays an important role in standardization groups like AUTOSAR in the automotive domain as well as in the OMG (Object Management Group) standardization body responsible for the UML, SysML and MARTE standards, and contributes to the Eclipse open-source model-based development platform Papyrus (www.eclipse.org/papyrus).
