*Position Summary*: Under the direction of a radiologist, performs mammographic procedures at technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of mammography procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures as required.
*Physical Demands*: Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for operation and trouble shooting of all department equipment. Duties regularly require standing, walking and stooping. Requires eyesight sufficient to operate equipment and review digital images.
*Working Conditions*: Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, fumes, chemicals, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
*Duties and Responsibilities: *
* Follows prescribed safety standards in operating mammography equipment.
* Instructs patients’ regarding procedures.
* Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking x-rays following established protocols.
* Selects length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual basis.
* Examines digital images for properties such as positioning, density and contrast, definition, magnification and quality control.
* Authorizes release of patient upon completion of exam.
* Maintains examination room. Stocks necessary supplies.
* Cleans and makes minor adjustments to equipment.
* Participates in training employees and students.
* Attends required meetings and participation on committees as required.
* Enhances professional growth through CME.
* Other duties as assigned.
*Preferred Qualifications:*
* Must have completed high school or equivalent.
* Must have completed an accredited course in Radiologic technology.
* Current certification with ARRT (R) and (M)
* Current state license.
* Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients and others.
* Superior dexterity skills needed to work equipment.
* Must have excellent computer skills.
Pay: Range $38.93 - 50.92 DOE
