*Summary: *
The Pediatric Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible for evaluating, planning, and providing therapy services to children with physical, developmental, or functional limitations. The PT designs individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, coordination, and independence in daily activities. Services are delivered in the child’s home or community settings, with an emphasis on family-centered care, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and supporting each child’s overall growth and well-being.
*Job Qualifications:*
* Graduate of an accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s program.
* Current, active license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Texas.
* Current CPR certification.
* Strong communication, organizational, and clinical reasoning skills.
* Ability to evaluate, develop, and implement individualized pediatric treatment plans.
* Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
*Job Responsibilities *
* Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for children with physical, developmental, and functional challenges
* Provide individualized therapy to improve mobility, strength, coordination, balance, posture, and overall physical independence.
* Design and implement interventions that support motor development and participation in age-appropriate daily activities.
* Educate and train families, caregivers, and other professionals on home exercise programs and carryover strategies.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (OT, SLP, physicians, educators, etc.) to support holistic care.
* Document evaluations, progress notes, treatment sessions, and discharge summaries in compliance with state and organizational standards.
* Monitor and adjust therapy plans as needed to ensure progress toward developmental goals.
* Ensure compliance with Texas state licensure regulations, professional ethics, and organizational policies.
*Physical Requirements*
* Frequent walking, climbing stairs.
* Repeated or prolonged standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
* Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling, up to 50lbs.
* Must have sufficient strength and manual dexterity to safely operate equipment, including grasping and manipulating small objects.
* Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to communicable disease, household animals, latex, or other sources of allergic response and that cannot always be controlled by the employer.
* Must be able to wear a TB respirator and other personal protective equipment as needed.
