About
*Responsibilities:*
* Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests, to assist in diagnosing orthopedic conditions.
* Treatment Planning: Collaborate with the orthopedic surgeon to develop treatment plans for patients, which may include recommending surgical interventions, non-surgical treatments, and rehabilitation strategies.
* Assist in Surgery: Participate in orthopedic surgeries by assisting the surgeon, performing specific tasks, and ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures.
* Post-Operative Care: Provide post-operative care to patients, including wound care, monitoring recovery progress, and adjusting treatment plans, as necessary.
* Prescribe Medications: Prescribe medications, including pain management drugs and antibiotics, as part of the treatment plan.
* Perform Injections and Procedures: Administer joint injections, aspirations, and other minor procedures under the supervision of the orthopedic surgeon.
* Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their orthopedic conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care instructions.
* Order and Interpret Tests: Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, MRI scans, and laboratory tests, to aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of patients.
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient encounters, treatments, and progress
* Handle Administrative Tasks: May involve handling administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, responding to patient inquiries, and assisting with billing and insurance matters.
*Education & Training*
* State licensure to practice in NYS and Connecticut.
* 2+ years' experience in Orthopedics preferred

* Strong verbal and written communication

* Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and procedures
* Good interpersonal skills
* Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
* Ability to move and manipulate patients

_This position will require travel between Danbury and our NY locations (Mt. Kisco, Carmel, Fishkill, Newburgh)._
