Senior Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA)
position.
WORK SCHEDULE
100% FTE – 40 hours per week
Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 08:00 – 17:00 (PST), Monday-Friday
Required participation in team on call schedule
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
UW Medicine IT Services (ITS)
is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing Epic client system and web and service server applications (i.e. Interconnect, Care Everywhere, MyChart, Kuiper, Hyperspace Web, EpicCare Link, WebBlob, System Pulse, BCA)
Leads projects of small to intermediate scope, with high levels of technical complexity
Communicates strategy and goals to project team and stakeholders
Identifies and executes proofs of concept for new technologies or other significant enhancements
Manages and recommends changes to technical standards
Responsible for security design of more complex systems or applications
Plans and implements significant changes to system to address capacity, performance, or overall scale
Experience managing Windows Server systems
Conversant with more advanced networking concepts especially as they relate to data center networking: firewalls, load balancing, virtual private networks, etc.
Implement systems with more enhanced reliability enhancements that include replication, clustering, or other fault tolerant concepts
Providing production support for escalated issues/tickets and ongoing system troubleshooting, maintenance, monitoring, and training
Cross-training and mentoring team members
Participates in team on-call rotation
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Health Information Systems, Math, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
Currently holds one or more of the following Epic certifications:
ECSA 101 – Hyperspace, ECSA 102 - WebBlob/BCA/EPS, ECSA 105 - Hyperspace Web/Interconnect/System Pulse, ECSA 110 - MyChart/MC Mobile/EpicCare Link, and/or ECSA 115 - Care Everywhere
6+ years’ experience must include the following:
6+ years providing Epic ECSA systems application maintenance/support
6+ years of experience with Windows System management
Exemplary customer service orientation, with experience building relationships, setting expectations, and collaborating across groups to ensure customers receive top quality service
6+ years of experience with application/system configuration and implementation of clinical information systems (and/or healthcare applications)
Advanced experience defining customer requirements, translating them into design specifications for intermediate- to large-scale projects
Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle
Extensive experience supporting small- and large-scale enterprise customers, both internal and external
Extensive experience walking clients through using systems in a healthcare environment
