One to One Teaching Assistant

Location: Battle, Sussex

Basic Salary: £22,369.35

Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Term Time, Full Time

Welcome to ISP School, a Special Educational Needs School with over 20 years of experience in nurturing vulnerable children aged 7 to 16 with complex needs. We are excited to announce the opening of our new school in Battle, East Sussex, with a full capacity of 60 pupils, set within a stunning country estate.

As a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in mentoring and supporting our pupils. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing dedicated support to one pupil or a small group of no more than five.
• Assisting the Classroom Teacher during lessons.
• Reporting on pupils' progress and collaborating with school staff to meet their needs.
• Supervising pupils during non-classroom activities, including extracurricular events and school trips.
• Helping with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
• Setting and marking work where appropriate.
• Building positive relationships to drive engagement and learning outcomes.

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant.
• Experience working with pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
• Confidence to lead in a specialism (e.g., Reading, Mathematics, Forest School).
• Skills in behaviour management and techniques.
• A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.

All candidates must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, with costs covered by ISP.
