We are currently seeking a Project Coordinator to support multidisciplinary construction projects in the Fort McMurray area.
Working closely with Project Managers and field teams, this role is responsible for supporting project execution, estimating, scheduling, document control, and cost management. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging construction professional looking to grow within a leading infrastructure organization.
How You'll Add ValueProject & Estimating Support
- Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and tender submissions
- Review tender specifications, drawings, and attend pre-tender meetings
- Contact suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and technical information
- Develop project schedules and identify critical paths
- Maintain production and estimating databases
Project Execution
- Support Project Managers in delivering road, bridge and infrastructure projects
- Assist with budget management, cost tracking, and monthly client invoicing
- Conduct on-site inspections and ensure compliance with contract documents
- Review shop drawings and construction submittals
- Identify cost or quality discrepancies and report to the project team
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
Field & Team Support
- Support field crews to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery
- Provide ongoing communication with internal teams, supervisors, and clients
- Assist with construction procedures and equipment selection
- Promote collaboration across Volker Stevin divisions
Client & Stakeholder Relations
- Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach
- Build strong relationships with consultants, owners, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Ensure projects meet service and delivery expectations
Process Improvement & Development
- Identify opportunities to improve estimating and project management processes
- Support implementation of best practices
- Take initiative in learning and professional development
- Partner with leadership on skills development
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred (Related degree or diploma will be considered)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in team environments
- Co-op and/or field experience considered an asset
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel
