Responsibilities

• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product inquiries and offering product demos when appropriate
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and cash handling procedures with precision and integrity
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
• Upsell products by informing customers of promotions and complementary items to enhance their shopping experience
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or providing assistance remotely
• Support inventory management through stock replenishment and merchandising efforts in a grocery store or retail setting

Skills

• Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering duties in a retail or grocery store environment
• Supervising experience is a plus, especially in overseeing team members or training new staff
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage bilingual customers effectively
• Knowledge of retail math for accurate cash handling and transaction balancing
• Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for sales calculations and inventory counts
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Familiarity with merchandising, stocking techniques, and product demos to promote sales opportunities
• Professional phone etiquette for handling customer calls politely and efficiently
• Experience in upselling and promoting store products to increase sales volume
