Position Overview

The 
Business Development Associate
 plays a critical role in driving Ardent Animal Health's growth by developing new client relationships within 
equine and companion animal veterinary practices
. This individual will work independently, with the help of our team, to identify, engage, and cultivate prospective clients through proactive outreach, relationship-building, and field engagement.

This role is ideal for someone 
early in their career or with 1–3 years of experience
 who is motivated, organized, and eager to grow within veterinary business development. It additionally includes opportunities for commission.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Lead Generation

  • Identify and research prospective equine and companion animal veterinary practices
  • Independently develop and manage a pipeline of qualified leads
  • Execute outbound outreach efforts including:
  • Cold and warm phone calls
  • Email and digital outreach
  • In-person visits and field-based relationship building
  • Schedule meetings, presentations, and follow-ups with veterinary decision-makers
  • Maintain accurate documentation of outreach, leads, and progress in CRM tools

Relationship Building & Market Presence

  • Build trusted relationships with veterinarians, practice managers, and key stakeholders
  • Represent Ardent Animal Health professionally during phone calls, virtual meetings, and on-site visits
  • Develop an understanding of client needs and align Ardent solutions accordingly
  • Support long-term business growth through consistent follow-up and relationship nurturing

Strategy & Collaboration

  • Work independently while aligning with company growth objectives
  • Provide feedback on market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support client onboarding and retention efforts

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, animal science, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 0–3 years of experience in sales, business development, customer engagement, or related roles
  • Interest in or familiarity with veterinary medicine, animal health, or the equine/companion animal industry preferred
  • Strong communication skills—comfortable speaking with professionals via phone and in person
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a field-based environment
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven
  • Willingness to travel locally or regionally for client visits as needed
