About
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The individual will work as a member of the research and development team to develop and release new products, improve existing products, and support production of these devices.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that new products are released on schedule with robust designs and acceptance testing methodologies that achieve cost objectives.
- Performs stress tests, analyzes data, and prepares reports.
- Prepares preliminary and detailed design drawings and design specifications.
- Participates on cross functional teams as a member and/or project manager.
- Mentor and direct work of junior engineers, designers, and technicians as required.
- Implement process and product changes using existing change control process.
- Supports existing products with problem solving and continuous improvement of cost and quality objectives.
- Manufacturing line support as needed.
- Support other Proteor sites and activities as needed.
Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in design and development.
- Medical device experience is preferred.
- Experience with composite design preferred.
- Experience with mechatronic design preferred.
- Experience with hydraulic system design preferred.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 environment.
- FEA experience preferred.
- Established history of taking projects from concept through design, verification and validation, and commercial release.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Strong computer skills including; Solid Works, Catia, ERP software, Microsoft Office
- Proficient in 3D modeling software, preferably SolidWorks
- Excellent technical writing and report writing abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills
- Results oriented, works independently, and manages multiple projects simultaneously
