Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel/Gas Technician to join our team. This full-time position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, including trucks, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and automotive systems. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy equipment operation, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior dealership experience and familiarity with various diagnostic tools are highly valued. Duties

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gasoline engines.
  • Perform inspections, maintenance, and complete engine rebuilds per manufacturer standards.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, fuel, and emissions systems using diagnostic tools.
  • Document all labor and work performed accurately.
  • Communicate repair timelines and updates to the Service Manager.
  • Maintain a safe and organized workspace.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of diesel or automotive technician experience preferred.
  • ASE certification(s) or equivalent experience (shop covers ASE testing).
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Proven experience in automotive diagnostics and repair; dealership experience is preferred
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery
  • Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools
  • Knowledge of transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, tire service, and welding techniques
  • Experience working with industrial equipment including Caterpillar machinery or similar brands
  • Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform physical tasks requiring heavy lifting
  • Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues accurately
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40, $70,000.00 per year
