Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those requiring specialized support. In this role, you will work closely with residents to promote independence, safety, and well-being within a supportive environment. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalized care and assistance.

Duties

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations
  • Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs
  • Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or hospice care
  • Utilize proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts for resident transfers and ensure safety during mobility assistance
  • Conduct patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior and report findings appropriately
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks as needed
  • Document care activities accurately while respecting patient confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines
  • Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
  • Follow all safety protocols including CPR and First Aid procedures to ensure resident safety at all times

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care is preferred
  • Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, autism spectrum disorders, and hospice or palliative care is advantageous
  • Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable; willingness to obtain these certifications if not already certified is required
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is preferred
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with transfers using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment
  • Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety awareness
  • Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and patience when working with diverse populations
  • Ability to adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality at all times

Pay: $ $17.00 per hour
