In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service by managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and supporting clinical staff with administrative tasks. What You'll Do
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in procedures to ensure a smooth arrival experience
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using medical administrative support software based on developed plan of care
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history, utilizing medical terminology accurately
- Submit insurance authorizations, verifying benefits accurately, ensuring proper information for accurate billing
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries or directing calls to appropriate clinical staff
- Maintain organized patient records and update electronic health records with relevant information
- Support the clinical team by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations
- Assist with billing processes, including processing payments and explaining insurance coverage to patients
What You Bring
- 1+ years of full-time insurance verification and authorization experience in a physician, medical specialty, hospital, or home health setting (REQUIRED)
- Hands-on experience with payer portals and high-volume insurance calls
- Familiarity with medical terminology and basic understanding of healthcare procedures
- Proven ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced setting
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail when managing patient information and schedules
- Office experience demonstrating proficiency with administrative tools such as scheduling software and electronic health records systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Google Sheets necessary
- Gather new patient data; keep track of all patient referrals
- Follow-up on marketing leads, converting 50% to evaluations
