We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced quick service food service environment. Ideal for candidates from high volume fast food or casual fine dining / pub environments. Our menu is 80% hold and serve, 20% cook to order.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant management experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food preparation and presentation. The Kitchen Manager will play a key role in fostering a positive team environment and ensuring operational excellence across all facets of the restaurant.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating team members.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure quality standards are met consistently.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to maximize profitability.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling procedures.
- Monitor daily restaurant operations to maintain efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly to uphold service excellence.
- Conduct interviews for potential new hires and participate in staff scheduling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Skills
- Proven experience in restaurant management or food industry leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety protocols.
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS; cash handling skills are essential.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with team management capabilities.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns professionally.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop staff members.
- Familiarity with restaurant operations including inventory control, ordering, and cost management.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation regulations.
