General Statement of Duties
The Patient Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between patients and their assigned sub-specialty providers, ensuring a high standard of patient access, service, and continuity of care. This role functions as the central point of contact for routine and urgent communications, including post-operative care instructions and coordination of follow-up needs.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Essential Functions
Acting in a concierge-style capacity, the Patient Coordinator supports a seamless patient experience by:
- Primary point of contact for the patient
- Managing document workflows
- Processing referrals
- Acquiring insurance authorizations
- Preparing charts
- Optimize clinic readiness
- Ensuring daily clinic capacity is fully utilized
- Triaging patient needs
- Facilitating efficient communication between clinical and administrative teams
- Coordinate schedules of multiple resources, including outside facilities (i.e. providers, physical resources, and clinical staff schedules)
- This role also is required to cover Registration
Assists with related tasks and initiatives to support the overall goals of the practice.
Educations & Experience
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience in healthcare scheduling or equivalent of experience in a healthcare setting, knowledge of medical insurance and familiarity with electronic medical records.
Requirements
- Must have excellent ability and understanding to use necessary technology including computers and software applications.
- Must maintain patient confidentiality.
- Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Must demonstrate a consistent positive attitude, and display of professional conduct always.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Critical thinking skills also essential.
- Thorough understanding of medical terminology preferred.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize.
Working Conditions
- Travel to other offices is not normally required, however may be necessary upon request.
- Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
- Some bending and stretching are required.
- Manual dexterity using computer is required.
