About
Our Columbus, Ohio distribution center is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to enhance our warehouse operations. As a Forklift Operator, you will be essential in moving materials safely and efficiently, supporting our overall logistics framework. This role demands precision, a keen eye for safety, and proficiency in operating forklifts.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Retrieve products from storage areas for order fulfillment.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or equipment issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and verification.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and safety.
- Work effectively with other team members to meet operational demands.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Proven ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and best practices in logistics.
- Must wear all mandated PPE, including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and high-visibility apparel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to maintaining a secure and hazard-free workplace.
