About the Role
Reporting to the Chief of People Operations, BHC's Human Resources Specialists play a key role in driving BHC's people-first culture, supporting our growing collective of 15+ venues and 1000+ team members.
This role is responsible for coordinating and executing a variety of people programs, talent management, and compliance initiatives, ensuring BHC remains a great place to work and grow.

What You'll Do:
Performance Success Support (40%)- Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager HR inquiries
- Provide guidance on policies, performance management, and workplace best practices
- Support investigations and documentation related to employee concerns, in alignment with Alberta Employment Standards and BHC policies
- Foster positive working relationships through coaching, consistency, and clear communication
- Maintain confidential and accurate employee records
- Complete full-cycle recruitment for Back of House teams, and partner with venue leadership to support Front of House teams
- Maintain job postings and applicant tracking
- Support employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs
- Collaborate with managers on retention strategies and internal mobility
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining HR policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Employment Standards Code, Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), and Human Rights legislation
- Maintain HR systems and ensure data accuracy
- Support HR metrics, reporting, and analytics to inform decision-making
- Participate in HR projects such as training initiatives, performance reviews, and policy updates
- Support payroll and benefits processes in collaboration with the Payroll & Benefits team and Employee Housing team
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, ideally within hospitality or a multi-location organization
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
- CPHR designation (or working toward it) preferred
- Strong understanding of Alberta Employment Standards, Human Rights, and OHS legislation
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across teams
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and conflict-resolution skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with tech
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Enthusiasm for hospitality and a genuine passion for people
