Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Shift Manager to lead our dynamic team in delivering exceptional food service experiences. As a key leader on the floor, you will oversee daily operations, ensure high standards of food quality and safety, and foster a positive environment for both staff and customers. Duties
- Supervise daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth service flow and adherence to company policies
- Lead, motivate, and train staff in food preparation, customer service, POS operation (including Aloha POS and Micros POS systems), and food safety protocols
- Oversee food handling, cooking processes, and food production to maintain high quality standards and compliance with health regulations
- Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize profitability
- Handle cash transactions accurately through POS systems and perform cash handling duties with integrity
- Ensure all food safety standards are met or exceeded by conducting regular cleanliness checks and staff training on sanitation procedures
- Coordinate with kitchen management to ensure efficient food preparation and timely delivery of orders
- Conduct staff interviews, assist in training & development initiatives, and support team members' growth within the restaurant environment
- Manage shift schedules, assign tasks, and oversee staff performance to maintain a productive work environment
- Address customer concerns promptly with professionalism to enhance guest satisfaction
- Support budgeting efforts by controlling labor costs and managing operational expenses effectively
- Collaborate with management on special events such as banquets or catering services when applicable
Skills
- Proven experience in food service management within quick service or fast food restaurants; casual dining or hotel experience is a plus
- Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or assistant management experience in hospitality or restaurant settings
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety standards
- Proficiency in POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Ability to manage inventory control efficiently while minimizing waste and controlling costs
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on creating positive guest experiences
- Effective team management capabilities including training, development, interviewing, and performance coaching
- Familiarity with kitchen management practices including food handling, production, and sanitation protocols
- Experience with managing budgets, scheduling shifts, and supervising staff in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Knowledge of hospitality management principles including catering, banquet services, bar operations (including barista or coffee experience), and general restaurant operations is advantageous
