About

About Manticore Marketing

We make businesses impossible to ignore. Through bold messaging, conversion-first websites, and scroll-stopping campaigns, we help businesses get seen, remembered, and chosen. If you're a precise communicator with a knack for clarity, a respect for brand voice, and an eye for detail—this is where your pen becomes power.

What is a Marketing Content Engineer?

It's not just copywriting. This role is about shaping how our clients are perceived online—from the very first Google result to the final call-to-action.

You'll engineer written content that informs, persuades, and converts:

  • 70% of your time will focus on websites: writing homepage copy, service pages, blog articles, landing pages, SEO snippets, and other conversion-focused content.
  • 30% of your time will be spent repurposing that content into platform-native versions for email, Instagram, LinkedIn, and beyond.
  • You'll work closely with the web design team to make every site feel cohesive and clear—and with the social/content team to ensure the voice and message are echoed (not copy-pasted) across every touchpoint.

You're the Right Fit If:

  • You write quickly and rewrite ruthlessly. You know the first draft isn't the final one.
  • You can take a messy Google Doc, a 2-minute voice note, or a client's half-formed idea—and turn it into a clean, persuasive message.
  • You love clarity. You're not here to write long essays. You're here to help people get it and act .
  • You know brand voice is everything. You can write playfully or professionally, depending on the audience.
  • You obsess over details—punctuation, tone, layout, and how words sit next to visuals.
  • You get excited about small wins: a lowered bounce rate, a click-through spike, a headline that sticks.
  • You treat every piece of writing like it matters . Because it does.

Core Responsibilities

1. Website & SEO Copywriting (Primary)

  • Write clear, compelling copy for websites, landing pages, and SEO-focused blog content.
  • Research competitors, client goals, and customer pain points to shape effective messaging.
  • Collaborate with our web team to pair copy with layouts and visuals that support it.

2. Content Repurposing (Secondary)

  • Adapt long-form content into social captions, short blog summaries, email intros, or ad headlines.
  • Preserve message clarity and brand voice while tailoring for format and audience.
  • Stay current on content trends—knowing how styles differ between LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

3. Internal & Client-Facing Support

  • Write occasional bios, video scripts, product descriptions, or microcopy as needed.
  • Collaborate with designers, video editors, social leads, and leadership to bring campaigns to life.
  • Help refine messaging for internal projects (like our own site, case studies, or email sequences).

Must-Haves

  • Strong writing portfolio that may include websites, landing pages, or long-form blog content.
  • 1–3 years experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related writing-intensive field.
  • Proven ability to write across different tones (from playful to formal) depending on the audience.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, feedback-driven environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Clear understanding of formatting and layout hierarchy (H1s, CTAs, spacing, bullets, etc.).
  • Familiarity with basic SEO best practices, especially writing for scanability and relevance.

Bonus Skills (Not Required)

  • Experience with Notion, Webflow, or WordPress.
  • Knowledge of Google Docs, Trello, and content planning workflows.
  • Some understanding of sales psychology and how buyers read pages.
  • Familiarity with Instagram, LinkedIn, and/or email marketing best practices.

Perks & Pay

  • $15–$25/hour depending on experience & availability.
  • Performance-based bonuses for hitting content quality or engagement benchmarks
  • Option to grow into full-time salaried position with added responsibilities
  • Training and mentorship from Manticore's leadership team
