We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Sacramento, California. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all incoming goods into our warehouse. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for verifying shipments against purchase orders, inspecting items for damage, and properly logging all received inventory. You will work closely with our warehouse associates and supervisors to maintain an organized and efficient receiving area. A strong understanding of inventory management principles and a commitment to safety are essential. - Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately record all incoming inventory into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate supervisor immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, ensuring proper placement of goods.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth workflow.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations is beneficial.
