Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Inventory Control Specialist to join our operations in Detroit, Michigan. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our inventory management systems. You will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting regular cycle counts and physical inventories, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and implementing process improvements to optimize inventory accuracy. A strong understanding of warehouse Logistics and inventory control principles is essential. You will play a key role in ensuring product availability and minimizing stockouts. Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of inventory control.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and participate in full physical inventories.
  • Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage inventory data within the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring accuracy.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory accuracy and reduce shrinkage.
  • Monitor stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and ensure product shelf-life management.
  • Collaborate with operations and purchasing teams on inventory planning.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe inventory storage environment.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency with WMS and inventory management software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
