*QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS*
*EDUCATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS*
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Veterinary Technician Certification (LVT) (CVT) (RVT) is preferred
*EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS *
* Minimum two years experience as a veterinary technician or assistant
*PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS *
* Minimum of 18 years old.
* Enjoys working with animals.
* Comfortable in emergency situations.
* Has a high level of professionalism.
* Has excellent client communication skills.
* Has a desire to advance, learn, and help educate others.
* Works well in a team environment.
* *Physical Effort*: Work requires lifting and carrying animals up to 40 lbs. Walks or stands for extended periods of time.
*PERFORMANCE EXPECTATION*
* Provide compassionate care to patients and clients.
* Conducts oneself in a confident and professional manner.
* Maintain accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy.
* Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas.
* Perform physical assessments.
* Effectively and safely restrain pets of different temperaments.
* Keeps the hospital clean and orderly to prevent contamination or infections.
* Comfortable communicating with pet owners regarding their pet's care.
* Comfortable discussing estimates and financial commitments with clients.
* Explains necessary follow-up and homecare instructions.
* Understands usage, dosage, and common side-effects for commonly used prescription drugs.
* Assist the veterinarian in medical, surgical, and/or diagnostic procedures; prepares patients for surgery; administers anesthesia; monitors patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids and supportive care.
* Perform emergency stabilizing procedures, including CPR.
* Perform clinical laboratory procedures.
* Performing radiology procedures.
* Perform and basic interpretation of electrocardiograms.
* Proficient in venipuncture.
* Care, admittance, and maintenance of hospitalized patients.
* Calculate medication doses and constant rate infusions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.50 per hour

Experience:
* Veterinary technician: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
* Veterinary Technician License (Preferred)
